Additional Income Streams
Once you have a site, there are more ways to generate income than memberships. This is how most free sites make money, after all. But both member sites as well as avs sites can also use the same techniques to generate additional revenues.
Partnership Click Throughs--these are perhaps the most common used methods to make money from free sites or to make additional money from pay or avs sites. Some companies pay a flat amount for each visitor you send. Others pay a percentage from each sale generated by visitors who originated at your site. I am not real fond of these programs, although I do use a few. But if you have only one site, then these may be a valid choice. For more information on these, click here.
E-mail Capture -- E-mail capture is where you offer your surfers free pictures, jokes, stories, and more by merely having the surfer sign up. I like these programs much, much more as they offer a good product and because the surfer is taken back to your page once he has signed up. This means you can put this offer before your sign-up page for your site and not lose the traffic. Programs usually pay from between $0.35 and$0 .65 per sign-up. Two good programs are:
Phone Sex -- This is pure gold. You lose no traffic, it costs you nothing, and the checks can be very significant. One day earlier this year I made over $1,200 on one phone number. My normal take is more like $50 each day, but even that is good when you remember that this is all extra cash, free money, if you will. Each and every site you have should have at least one phone sex number.
For small sites, you need to use one of the few companies who provide phone sex and don't care if your traffic is light. I recommend for these:
RBC -- good niche lines, but you
need to request each one separately
PhoneBucks -- more of a general service
