Age Verification Services

As I said, the new webmasters' best friend.

I have listed the avs's in my order of preference for new webmasters.

ADULT FOR LIFE
Has only one price, and it is good for life.  Makes sense: they say if you prove your age once, then you are still old enough the next year.  This avs is newer avs (nice in that not everyone has a membership yet) and is well-run.

Recommendation: Highly recommended for any site.

CERTIFIER
The only European-based avs.  They are out of France, but their customer service is the best.  I have had the owner, Fred, call me from France in response to an e-mail question I asked them. They do not issue a W-9, so it is up to Americans to report this income to the IRS. They give away free trips to Paris (fairly easily earned) and are giving away a Ferarri this year. You can refer your own sites.

Recommendation:  A top choice.  One of the first avs you should get, and then put other sites, of different content, on it, too.

AGE CHECK
A good AVS that pays very well.  Sends e-mail messages every day summarizing activity.   Best referral program out there. Checks are on time an reliable.  Its stats pages are easy and quick to navigate. Will assist in promoting your site. Also has a "Save the Bandwidth" program where only members who sign up with you get into your site.  Other Age Check members go to a generic page run by Age Check (this option pays less in commissions, though). Also has real-time stats and strip shows for members. It also pays a click-through for anybody going on to your site regardless if they sign-up with you or not.

Recommendation.  Very good choice.  If your site is average or has some kinky or less common fetish or bent, this AVS will probably make you more money.  If you plan to refer lots of other websites, this is the one for you.

ADULT AGE
They only pay a flat $10, but they are an "almost free" avs.  The surfer pays $1.95 for a "trial," and he will not pay the full membership fees if he cancels within a week.  This is very good advertising point, and sites do well with them.  I have spoken with the owner, and the chargeback rate is pretty high, but you still get your $10 no matter what. They pay weekly.

Recommendation:  You should really get at least one site up with them. 

ADULT KEY
This is a steady, well-run avs.  Sites seem to convert pretty well, they seem to get more than their fair share of lifetime sign-ups, and the stats are easy to read. They do allow self-referrals.

Recommendation:  Highly recommended, especially for webmasters who need to put up multiple sites.

ADULT CHECK GOLD
I had previously downgraded Adult Check in my recommendations.  They were just too big to be of much use to the beginning webmaster.  Most surfers likely to buy a membership already have one.  When they started Adult Check Gold, I thought they were too stringent to be worth the money.  Big mistake!  Adult Check Gold is by far the finest premium program.  I have sites with 5 premium programs, and this one pays the best by far.  The member pays each month, so your income can skyrocket pretty quickly.They are pretty picky about which sites to accept, but the time spent making a site with them is well worth it.

Recommendation:  If you are good at making sites, this is a good one to have.

ADULTSIGHTS
Aggressive AVS which tries to stay at the head of the pack.  Perhaps the quickest to respond to webmaster e-mail or activation.  Pays pretty well. Has a large bonus pool for payments each month to its webmasters (can be $20,000 in some months).  Not the biggest around, but growing rapidly.  Has instant activation. Has an affiliated gay AVS, ManSights.

Recommendation:  Maybe the best choice for experienced webmasters with good sites if income from memberships is a prime goal.

FUTUREPASS
A high paying, well-run avs.  Pays reliably and on time.  The sign-up is not garish nor bandwidth heavy, so it loads quickly.

Recommendation: highly recommended, but apply for the preferred status.  Almost any site will qualify, and the payment is better.

PASSWORD+
This is a new avs with only a relatively few sites as of yet.  The advantage--most likely no one will have membership yet.  The disadvantage--you can't advertise that membership will give access to thousands of site.  Pays very well considering the low charge to the surfer $15.95).

Recomendation:  A good idea, especially if you don't need avs traffic and want to make decent money.  Probably good for fetish sites.

NETVERIFIER (formerly PORNOPASS)
Can actually pay the most of any service (up to $53.95 per sign-up).  Fairly well-established, pays on time and weekly  The payment schedule is too complicated to put here so you have to go and see it.

Recommendation:  good avs which should be used after the above ones are.

ADULT CHECK
The largest of the AVS's.  This AVS protects over 28,000 sites.  It pays a week after the pay period, but is very reliable.  Its "New Site" section generates tremendous traffic for the first two weeks after the site is activated. It's webmaster help area is noted for its very good site promotion area.  Real-time stats for webmasters are nice for those who like to check several times throughout the day. Gives away $5,000 in bonuses every two weeks to its webmasters.

Recommendation:  While no longer highly recommended (they are good, but just getting too big) this AVS is still good for really good sites or those with heavy reliance on commission programs or site specific membership areas within the site. Traffic will be high, but it is more likely that the casual browser will already have an Adult Check ID.

UNIVERSAL ADULT PASS
A sometimes frustrating avs (they charge you for chargebacks and credits) you never-the-less can make decent money here.  This avs is expensive and has monthly recurring bills, but that means the payments can add up.

Recommendation: once you have other sites up, give this a shot.

VALIDATE
This used to be one of the best.  Now they have closed their lounge, which was their biggest strength, and the owners have taken some rather shortsighted approaches which hurt their webmasters in getting listed in several search engines.  VALIDATE also runs Lancelot, a very good system for site specific memberships.  Pays very reliably the day after the pay period; always the first check webmasters receive.  Gives away cruises to ten webmasters each year.

Recommendation: Formerly a top choice for new webmasters.   Put one site on them, if that.
